2. Stratogale And Syndrome Are Butchered By Jet Engines - The Incredibles

The Incredibles is a much-loved Pixar animated feature which focuses on a family with superpowers in an era of anti-superheroism. The family patriarch, Bob (voiced by Craig T. Nelson), secretly continues his work as a superhero by occasionally operating as a vigilante alongside his friend, Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson).

While working with superhero costume designer Edna Mode (Elizabeth Peña), Bob learns of various costume mishaps which have cost the lives of superheroes in the past. Most disturbing is the fate of Stratogale, a teenage superhero who could fly.

When Edna emphatically refuses to make a costume with capes, the audience learn it is due to Stratogale's unnervingly gruesome death. Flying alongside a commercial jet, Stratogale's cape became caught in the plane's engine, pulling the superhero into the blades and brutally killing her.

While this same fate later befalls Syndrome, the film's primary antagonist, Stratogale's death is more heartbreaking and disturbing: a young, completely innocent superhero graphically killed in a freak accident is undoubtedly tragic.

Furthermore, the passengers onboard the plane which killed Stratogale were able to bear witness to her horrifying death.
