10 Most Gruesome Saw Traps
8. The Rack (Saw III)
When Jigsaw calls this trap "his personal favourite", then you know you're in for a nightmare-inducing time.
Sometimes you don't need buckets of blood, outlandish set-ups or masses of practical effects to be gruesome. You just need something simple and terrifying. That's what this trap from Saw III gives you, as it's so straightforward in its design but paints a horrifying picture of gruesome pain and torture.
The segment starts as Jeff Denlon walks into a room with a man - Timothy Young - strapped to a device with all of his appendages straightened out. This device will twist each of Timothy's limbs until they are way past their breaking point, and to save him, Jeff must retrieve a key that's connected to a shotgun. However, things aren't that simple, as the man in the device was the drunk driver responsible for accidentally killing Jeff's son.
Jeff struggles to help the man, and thus we see as the bones in his arms and legs crack whilst being twisted. It's a gruesome image but gets worse as we make it to his neck, and Jeff - having now decided to help - makes it too late, as Timothy's head is turned all the way around.
