10 Most Gruesome Zombie Movie Deaths

6. Suicide - Return Of The Living Dead

This unofficial sequel to George A. Romero's zombie classic Night of the Living Dead couldn't be any different in tone, visuals or style. The punk rock horror comedy Return of the Living Dead (directed by Dan O' Bannon in 1985) sees a gang of punks at the mercy of a ravenous undead horde when a toxic gas is released into the air. The first of the bunch to die is ringleader 'Suicide' (the late Mark Venturini), killed by a mostly-melted zombie known - due to its molasses-like looks - as 'Tarman.'

A messy zombie begets a messy death, and Suicide is caught in the sloppy zombie's clutches, his brains munched out then and there on the basement floor. There have been more graphic horror movie deaths before and since, but Suicide gets a messier one than most - dying covered not only in bits of his own insides, but also that of the rotting, decomposing, Tarman. Yuck.
