10 Most Hated Characters In MCU History

Could anyone truly replace Steve Rogers as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? The Falcon and the Winter Soldier did a fantastic job of putting Sam Wilson in the role moving forward, and if anyone can do it, he can, but the series also introduced the worst possible replacement.

The reason Steve was given the super soldier serum in the first place, and why he ultimately became worthy of lifting Mjolnir, wasn't because he was a perfect soldier, but because he was a good man. John Walker couldn't have been further from him in this regard. His service record was second to none, but as soon as he was given the shield and the title, it all went to his head.

He was egotistical, aggressive, and he tried to intimidate citizens. Several times he felt the need to remind people that he was Captain America, and because of this he thought he was better than those around him, whereas in his own mind, Steve was always just a kid from Brooklyn.

The final episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier may have begun John Walker's redemption arc, as he fought the right fight for the first time since becoming Captain America, and moving forward as US Agent he may not be quite so despised. However, there is no denying that throughout the series, even after less than ten seconds of screen time and zero dialogue, he was hated by absolutely everyone.
