10 Most Hated Lord Of The Rings Characters

9. Treebeard

Denethor Steward Of Gondor Death The Lord OF The Rings
New Line Cinema

After the Fellowship of the Ring was broken up at the end of the first movie, the participants found themselves in three parties rather than one. Frodo and Sam made for Mordor, while Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli followed the Orcs that had captured the company's other two Hobbits, Merry and Pippin.

The latter two managed to escape and found themselves in Fangorn Forest with the Ents. They convinced Treebeard to go to war against Saruman and Isengard, but this didn't happen quickly. In fact, many fans felt that this part of the story was needlessly drawn out, and painfully slow.

Ents are very old creatures, and strongly felt that they would not say anything unless it was worth taking a long time to say. This wouldn't have been so irritating to so many had it not been taking place alongside the Battle for Helm's Deep.

The forces of good fighting against Saruman's Uruk-hai at the stronghold of Rohan is one of the biggest and best sequences in the entire trilogy. Every now and then however, audiences were taken away from the tension of this incredible, spine tingling fight to an old tree walking through the woods and talking very slowly.
