10 Most Horrible Superhero Movies Since 2000

It's certainly a great time to be alive if you're comic book fan, but that doesn't mean you're getting things all your own way. Just like in real life - whenever things are going well, someone always comes along and makes a god awful Fantastic Four movie.

Since the turn of the century, when the early X-Men and Spider-Man films dominated the market, there has been a handful of superhero movies every year, each trying to be just as successful. Superhero movies have come a long way since 2000, but with Marvel, DC, Sony and Fox often rushing out films in blatant attempts to one-up the rest, there's bound to be a few missteps along the way.

Nowadays, it feels like we're getting just as much bad as we are good. Studios are moving away from their source material in the name of originality, desperately trying to hold on to character rights, and just simply hiring Zack Snyder to run things - and these are the worst offenders.

Dawn of Justice makes this list purely on its ability to take a movie featuring Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman boring. You'd think, with Marvel so far ahead by now, that director Zack Snyder would worry less about dream sequences and Justice League members that essentially won't matter for a few years, and focus more on setting the stall for good DC Extended Universe movies.

The first 10 minutes of the film are perfect, but they're the first 10 minutes to one of three films happening inside this film. Somewhere in BvS is a Man of Steel sequel, a Batman reboot and a Justice League origin story, all brought together very loosely, and each underlined by Jesse Eisenberg's stale performance as Lex Luthor.

This film does have its redeeming qualities, but someone over at DC decided it would be a good idea to put them all in the trailers, and the rest of Batman v Superman is defined by its lazy cameos and one too many Marthas.
