10 Most Horrific Horror Movie Scenes Where Nobody Dies
5. Olga's Dance - Suspiria (2018)
Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria remake didn't surpass the brilliant original, but it was a fascinatingly disturbing companion piece that had the good sense to offer its own distinctive spin on the original concept. And by far, its most memorable scene is the terrifying sequence where dancer Olga (Elena Fokina) attempts to flee the Markos Dance Academy, only to find herself trapped in a room lined with mirrors.
Intercut with glimpses of protagonist Susie (Dakota Johnson) performing a dance for Madame Blanc (Tilda Swinton), we see Olga's body get thrown around the room as though possessed.
She contorts in brutal ways, her bones and organs snapping and protruding out of her body, all while she urinates herself and is ultimately contorted into a pretzel-like formation, after which the academy's matrons stab her with hooks and carry her off.
But perhaps the worst thing of all? She's not even dead, as we see Olga again at the end of the film, begging Susie - now revealed to be Mother Suspiriorum - to kill her, which she mercifully does.
