10 Most Hotly-Anticipated Historical Films Still To Be Released In 2015

7. The Walk

This list was always going to feature at least one biopic - and "The Walk" will tell the story of French high-wire artist Philippe Petit's daring journey between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center on August 7, 1974. Petit famously referred to his unauthorised high-wire feat as "Le Coup" - after he rigged a cable 400m above ground and walked across the wire an incredible eight times during a 45-minute period while carrying an eight-metre-long, 25kg balancing pole - and his story was previously told in the 2008 James Marsh-directed documentary "Man on Wire". With Joseph Gordon-Levitt starring as Petit, Charlotte Le Bon as his girlfriend Annie Alix, and Ben Kingsley also making an appearance in this film, Robert Zemeckis has managed to accrue a stellar cast - suggesting this screenplay has a brilliant script. Due to be released in October, let's hope it matches the brilliance of Man on Wire while adding extra drama and backstory.
