10 Most Hotly-Anticipated Historical Films Still To Be Released In 2015

8. Legend

If there was one actor the majority of people would want to play the notorious Kray twins then it would be Tom Hardy - and director Brian Helgeland has managed to make this dream a reality. In "Legend" - a film based on John Pearson's book "The Profession of Violence: The Rise and Fall of the Kray Twins" - the criminal lives of the East-End gangsters are followed from start to finish, with Hardy portraying both Ronald and Reginald Kray. The Kray twins terrorised the streets of London during the 1950s and 1960s, and "Legend" is a crime thriller that promises to deliver in Britain what films such as "LA Confidential" have done previously in the USA. Emily Browning (Frances Shea, Reggie's wife), Colin Morgan (Frankie Shea, Reggie's driver) and Christopher Eccleston (Leonard "Nipper" Read) also star in a screenplay that will focus mainly on Reggie Kray's attempts to keep his psychotic brother Ronald in check. Due to be released in September, this film guarantees action and mafia-crime-fuelled fun galore - but will it deliver a dramatic and historically-accurate story too?
