10 Most Iconic Images In Film History

08. Gene Kelly - SINGIN' IN THE RAIN (1952)

One of the most expressive and truly entertaining scenes within a musical film - if not movies in general - bore an equally iconic image that almost singlehandedly represents this genre. The photo of Gene Kelly holding on to a lamppost in the middle of a downpour has featured somewhere in virtually every publication that mentions the musical genre. Perfectly encapsulating the joyous and carefree tone of the scene itself, this still is a joy to look at and instantly makes the viewer smile. Kelly somehow manages to capture something in this still that has meant it's become one of the most iconic images from cinema history.
