Avengers: Endgame managed the insurmountable challenge of bringing the eleven-year Infinity Saga to an extensive and satisfying conclusion. Feeling the full weight of the most expansive cinematic journey to ever bless screens, Avengers Endgame brought things to a mighty end with its gargantuan superhero punch up, but it was the snap of a finger that hit fans the hardest.

Holding a quivering finger in the air, Dr. Strange signals to Tony Stark that this is it; their one in fourteen million. Attempting to grab the stones from Thanos, Tony is swatted away by the titan. Thanos raising the gauntlet he snaps his fingers to a thunk. The gauntlet is empty, the stones now forming their way into Tony’s legendary Iron Man suit. Their power coursing through his every fibre of being, Tony quietly utters the now iconic phrase, before triumphantly snapping Thanos and his forces out of existence.

Eleven years on and twenty-two films later, the noble sacrifice from the superhero that started it all left audiences in complete silence. Being the first of its kind, Marvel’s cinematic universe took its expansive history and excellent build-up to create a truly unforgettable moment, and the most impactful moment of the cinematic moment of the decade.
