3. JARVIS/Vision

JARVIS has by far and away had the biggest transformation of anyone in the MCU, going from the voice of Tony Stark’s operating system to being a fully fledged Avenger as Vision. Comparing his role in the first Iron Man to his turn in Infinity War, he simply had to be considered as one of the MCU’s most improved characters.

Paul Bettany’s dry delivery helped add some personality to Stark’s operating system, something which FRIDAY lacks, but JARVIS was very much an add on. Now though, he’s much more fleshed out as Vision, with his death in front of a helpless Wanda probably second only to Peter Parker’s for how heartbreaking it was.

The dry humour has stayed too, with him telling Ultron ‘I was born yesterday’ and drifting through walls awkwardly to talk to Wanda. Vision has kept the best bits of JARVIS and added so much more to the table.

The only person unhappy with this new prominence is Bettany himself, who joked that he liked the movies better when he could record his lines in sweatpants in a single day. Still, his loss is the MCU’s gain.
