10 Most Inconsistent Actors Working Today

7. Russell Crowe

Russell Crowe has been in a lot of films. A LOT. So, just by the law of averages, there are bound to be a few stinkers in his back catalogue.

But what makes Crowe so inconsistent is the fact that he seems to have long, drawn out runs of bad performance after bad performance, almost as if he's secretly trying to see how long of a streak he can pull off before audiences get fed up with him.

This is made even more infuriating by the fact that he'll suddenly pull an absolute blinder out of the bag, like his excellent turn as Jackson Healy in "The Nice Guys." This came after an especially depressing run of films like "Noah," "Robin Hood," and a distinctly bored looking Jor-El in Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel."

Still, Crowe's been a staple in popular films since his leading performance in the outstanding "Gladiator," and has had three consecutive Oscar nominations in his illustrious career. That, and the fact that he has a couple of releases just around the corner, means he's probably not going anywhere soon.

"Are you not entertained?" Well, sometimes we are, Russell. Sometimes.
