10 Most Insane Things Happening In Movies & TV Right Now (Jan 11th)
8. Melissa McCarthy Brought The Sandwiches
Award shows are an interesting satellite on the film and TV industry and while nobody seems to want to present them anymore and nobody wants to hire anyone to host them based on jokes they made before they realised that being a terrible person for the LOLs is not a nice way to live, they're still big attention-pullers.
The first major event of the year, as ever, was the Golden Globes, which took heat for acknowledging that Bohemian Rhapsody is a better film than Bryan Singer is a person. They also had a problem with snacks, apparently, because they serve all the food before the event when most of the stars are on the red carpet telling someone who looks like Ryan Seacrest who they're wearing or something. Not ideal when you've got a long, snackless event ahead of you.
Luckily, Melissa McCarthy appointed herself this year's snack provider and in true "have you got enough sandwiches for the whole class?" fashion she literally brought enough sandwiches for the whole class. She managed to somehow hide 30 - that's THIRTY - ham and cheese baguette sandwiches and smuggle them into the event to give out. Quite wear she'd hidden them is anyone's guess.
Not all superheroes wear capes.
