10 Most Intense Moments From The Halloween Movie Franchise

2. The Silver Shamrock - Halloween III

Michael Myers sat out Halloween's second sequel - 1982's largely unrelated Season of the Witch. A much sillier movie about killer Halloween masks (loaded with, uh, stonehenge-infused microchips), fans were initially disappointed by its lack of a Shatner-faced slasher villain. The film has since found its audience in a 'Halloween III is the best one' cult, and is now one of the more well-liked (at least in some circles) films in the franchise.

The film still managed its more intense moments, in spite of the lack of Michael Myers. Regardless of how one feels about Halloween III, there's no denying that the film delivered one of the franchise's most memorable kills as the children's death masks are activated and the mask-wearers suffer an agonising brain death, before melting into a gory pile of insect slush. This is demonstrated as a young child, his family gathered around watching, experiences the Silver Shamrock company's dastardly plan firsthand. A surprisingly horrifying moment, for the franchise's supposedly silly instalment.
