10 Most Intense Moments From The Halloween Movie Franchise

3. Kill Jill - Halloween II (1981)

The creators of 2018's Halloween reboot may have opted to boot this sequel out of continuity, but Rick Rosenthal's Halloween II has its share of scares. This 1981 sequel to Carpenter's movie is best remembered for the revelation that Michael and Laurie are, in fact, related, but it also delivers a properly shocking kill sequence.

Nurse Jill (Tawny Moyer) comes a cropper when she wanders into the path of Michael Myers, having followed Laurie to the local hospital, and looking to finish what he started. Once Michael had gotten the drop on her, he stabbed the nurse in the back with a scalpel - jamming it in so hard and deep that he was able to lift the poor girl up off the floor, where she floundered about, completing her death throes in confused agony. Michael would return to terrorise a fresh set of nurses in Rob Zombie's Halloween 2, but nurse Jill and her colleagues got there first in '81.
