10 Most Intense Thrillers From The Last Decade
3. 10 Cloverfield Lane
Although 10 Cloverfield Lane is set in the Cloverfield universe, it's definitely not a direct sequel to the handheld, sci-fi flick that came out in 2008. However, if you haven't seen it and that's what you were hoping for, don't be too disappointed as 10 Cloverfield Lane is a far better movie than its predecessor.
Instead of being a first person view experience, 10 Cloverfield Lane is done with the normal cinematic approach. While it isn't quite as groundbreaking as Cloverfield was, it does make the movie significantly more focused and far more creepy.
Featuring the consistently fantastic John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr., the story is set during the same time that the alien attack in Cloverfield happens. However, instead of watching the beginnings of the invasion, we see the aftermath and how humanity is trying to cope.
However, although this movie is set during an alien invasion, the real meat of this movie is focused on the human survivors and how their situation inside of a bunker is just as terrifying as life outside could be.
