5. Herman Ferguson (Rob Schneider) - Judge Dredd
The Sylvester Stallone version of Judge Dredd had two major issues in the first half hour of the movie. First, and perhaps the most grievous, was Dredd removing his helmet. That might have been tolerable if being forced out of the helmet after his trial thus giving Stallone his face time. The second issue was the inclusion of Rob Schneider. The actor can be very annoying on his own. In this movie, he proved it and for all the flaws this movie had, Rob Schneider had to be one of the worst. Ninety percent of what he did in the course of the film simply rubbed the grain of any enjoyment. While it is clear the intention of the character was purely for comic relief, the reality is he simply became the bringer of irritation. All Stallone could do was sneer every time Rob said anything which in many ways hurt his performance too. Dredd, as a character, could bring plenty of humor into a dark situation so adding a comic relief just killed the irreverence of the Dredd mythos. Then again, Dredd starting a relationship with Judge Hershey hurt the way the character came across so maybe it was just a bad interpretation all around.
