10 Most Laughably Stupid Moments In Films In 2012

7. Kinect in Paranormal Activity 4

KinectThe Moment: In an attempt to amuse children, Unimportant Teenage character 1 shows a flashy dot sequence that you can do with the Microsoft Kinect to which the small children respond with cries of amazement. The Stupidity: I don€™t mind product placement when it€™s subtle, when someone takes a sip from a Dr. Pepper can for example, that€™s fine by me. Maybe if someone references a game they€™ve played before, that€™s also fine. But to have children wandering around in the Kinect dots shouting "Wow! This is the most amazing thing I€™ve ever seen," is like a sucker punch to the nut sack. It's also fatally effective in taking you straight out of the movie. The placement is almost too cornball for a normal advert and it just causes movie savvy people to snigger in amazement at how stupid it is. Although, in all honesty, considering how Paranormal Activity 4 panned out, this was possibly one of the more subtle moments.
