10 Most Likable Movie Villains Of All Time

2. Loki (Thor)

Quick-witted, elegantly mischievous, and desperate to step out of Thor's shadow, Loki remains a sterling example of what a supervillain should look like in a Marvel movie. All the best bad guys are intelligent, and Loki's effortless ability to manipulate his foes give him an entrancing aura.

If you were to cobble together the best parts of Hans Gruber, Hannibal Lector, and Norman Stansfield, put them in a trench-coat and give them the dreamiest eyes this side of Asgard, you'd have Loki.

Tom Hiddleston does a masterful job portraying him with just the right balance of hostility and snark, to the point where you don't always know whether to laugh at his jokes or squirm at his malice. He's a funny guy, no doubt, but he wields that humor like a weapon. And watching him get one over on the good guys - with a sly smile, no doubt - doesn't always feel wrong.

Ultimately, Loki just wanted to prove he was Thor's equal, and to earn the love and respect of his adoptive father. Whether or not Odin loves him, we sure do.
