1. When Harry Met Sally (1989)
If you're like me, this is the first movie that pops into your head when someone says "New Year's Eve". And for those of you that didn't think of this film first, I'm betting it was a close second. When Harry Met Sally rather obviously tells the tale of Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) and their years-long journey from acquaintances to friends and finally to lovers. It's a very cute and amusing film and one well worth watching, but don't expect any deep insights into the human condition - it's a romantic comedy, after all. Most Memorable NYE Scene I don't think there's any question here. While Billy Crystal's waterfront run was memorable and has even been imitated in an episode of Seinfeld, the most memorable scene has to be at the New Year's Eve party where Harry names all of Sally's flaws while somehow making them seem endearing. And of course, Harry utters that awesome line; "...because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible." Classic. That's my list. What movies are on your list?
