10 Most Messed Up Deaths In The Star Wars: Sequel Trilogy
4. Ochi Kills Rey's Parents - Episode IX - The Rise Of Skywalker
The Sith dagger was an incredibly silly addition to the Skywalker Saga.
Away from it somehow being used to find the exact part of the Death Star Rey needed to get to, though, this weapon did actually find itself in the middle of one of the most tragic moments of the trilogy.
Before the gang got their hands on it, this weapon had been used by a bounty hunter known as Ochi of Bestoon. It's eventually revealed in Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker that Ochi actually took that very same tool that boasted a Death Star-locating tape measure and altered Rey's life forever with it.
You see, Ochi had been ordered by the returning Darth Sidious to bring his granddaughter to him. But after Rey's parents refused to tell him where she was, he responded by brutally plunging the Sith dagger into both of them.
After learning of this devastating truth, a no doubt traumatised Rey then continues walking around holding and using the exact same weapon that robbed her of her own parents.
That's pretty messed up whatever way you slice it.
