3. 300 Spartans vs. A Million Persians - 300
Sure, Zack Snyder's lavish epic took countless liberties with historical accuracy, but hey, it was a pretty kick-ass film, so I think we can let it go. The plot has 300 Spartans, led by King Leonidas (Gerard Butler), facing off against around a million Persians, for the mere purpose of stating that these odds are in-freaking-possible, and yet the Spartans still do a damn good job holding their own before they finally fall to King Xerxes' (Rodrigo Santoro) hand. In real life, it was actually around 7,000 Spartans and Greeks against 200,000 Persians, so still pretty horrific odds either way. In the end, it's a Pyrrhic victory for the Persians, as they win at fatal cost to themselves, essentially allowing another Spartan horde to run in and beat them down for good (a fight which, annoyingly, is only teased as the credits roll).
