This 2014 psychological horror film from Aussie director Jennifer Kent introduced the world to a different kind of monster in The Babadook, and Mister Babadook. The film stars Essie Davis as a grieving mom struggling to cope with single momdom and her awful son Samuel. When the boy stumbles across the Babadook book, a terrible demon makes this stressful situation even worse.
