10 Most Out-Of-Control Teens In Film

4. Kevin - We Need To Talk About Kevin

We Need To Talk About Kevin is an excellent film that studies the persona of just one off-the-rails teenager. In this case, it's the titular Kevin, an intelligent but clearly damaged character who can never quite fit in with his peers. This British-American psychological drama is a slow-builder for sure, but it's never anything but totally compelling. John C. Reilly and Tilda Swindon as Kevin's concerned parents are both contributing factors to the film's success, but it is really Erza Miller with his breakthrough performance as Kevin who steals it. It's not easy to pull off such a convincingly-creepy man, but he achieves it brilliantly. Much of the film deals with the Mother-son relationship as opposed to the specific horrors committed by Kevin and this makes the film all the more interesting. The film does remarkably to dig into Kevin's mind and show the audience what's inside, and although a lot of the horrible things he has done are merely referenced and not shown, we still know just how unstable and messed up this teenage boy is. Very, very out-of-control.
