Eden Lake is a British horror-thriller that has earned plenty of well-deserved praise for its brutality and unflinching devotion to telling a horrifying story. One of the best British horror films of the 21st century, at the heart of its terror is a collection of ruthless teenage boys who take the notion of pranking more than a step too far. The film centres on a couple who escape to the British countryside for a getaway, only to have their intended relaxing holiday disrupted by delinquent teenagers who just don't know when to quit. Although the harassment begins comparatively benign - stolen keys, punctured tire - things escalate pretty quickly into much more sinister territory. The leader of the gang is played by the utterly amazing Jack O'Connell. who has since gone from strength to strength. His lack of conscience and sick sense of pleasure fuel the intensity of the whole film and alongside his buddies, makes for one of the most disturbingly out-of-control teens on this list. Wickedly intense stuff.
