With The Joker taking on a starring role in Suicide Squad, at least a mention of Batman seems inevitable. More than that, it's actually been reported on multiple occasions that he will make some sort of cameo appearance, but not necessarily with Ben Affleck taking part in an entire scene as the Caped Crusader. Instead, he will be the focal point in a very different way and has been described as a "boogeyman" who is despised and feared by the government. Footage of Batman will be shown throughout the movie (whether this will be scenes from Batman v Superman or newly created material isn't unclear), and A.R.G.U.S./Suicide Squad leader Amanda Waller is said to be obsessed with finding him. Why? Well, the Dark Knight is apparently the key in her eyes to tracking down all of the world's "supers". This is what makes The Joker so important to her; he's the only one who's met and knows Batman!
