Terminator: Salvation ended with a mortally wounded John Connor receiving the heart of part man, part cyborg Marcus (Sam Worthington). However, the original plans for that movie were vastly different. It was supposed to wrap up with Connor's death, and Marcus having John's face transplanted onto himself so that the rebels wouldn't lose hope. That obviously would have meant that the leader of the human rebellion was in fact a Terminator in disguise. However, that ballsy move was one the studio wasn't willing to take, but it looks like Terminator Genisys is planning on borrowing from that idea to at least some extent. How? For starters, rumour has it that John will meet his maker in this movie. It's also been reported that Terminator Genisys will take that idea from Salvation and do something similar with it. What that means is unclear, but there obviously any number of possibilities. Will Kyle Reese find a way to pose as John? Will the T-800 get a makeover? Whatever the answer, insiders claim it will cause a lot of discussion and controversy.
