10 Most Overrated Movies Of 2015

These 2015 releases weren't quite as good as everyone made them out to be.

"Overrated" is a word that gets thrown around a lot in the movie world, and for good reason - each film resonants differently depending on who watches it, which means that one man's Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen is another man's Citizen Kane. When it comes to the movies, there's no right or wrong answer: just personal taste. And because of that, "overrated" has become an all-essential buzzword used for discussing the cinema. Each and every year, heaps of films are released to positive reviews and critical acclaim. Usually, the buzz surrounding a given movie can usually be trusted; if a lot of critics deem something to be great, then chances are that they're right. Sometimes, though, the critics - and audiences, following suit - get things wrong. Upon watching a movie that has been talked up as something close to a masterpiece, the reviews can feel highly misleading. 2015 has birthed a number of truly brilliant motion pictures.... and some that have been given way too much credit. Here, then, are the 10 most overrated movies of the year; those films that were acclaimed, beloved, lauded and praised all out of proportion. The only criteria that a movie needed to conform to in order to be considered for this list is that they had a score of over 75% on critical aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, denoting "generally positive reviews" on behalf of the critics when they really deserved a lot less.
