3. Chris Pratt – Peter Quill

If the Marvel Cinematic Universe has created as much of a star as Robert Downey Jr out of anyone, it is Chris Pratt.

Transitioning almost instantaneously from lovable schlub Andy on Parks & Recreation to the chiselled global superstar we know today, Pratt hopped on the Marvel gravy train and never looked back. In the years since, he has starred opposite some of the biggest names in Hollywood, voiced Disney characters, and even led the Jurassic Park franchise, all the while maintaining that Chris Pratt look and goofy charm.

And that's the problem right there.

While there has always been positive buzz surrounding Guardians Of The Galaxy and his character, Peter Quill/Star Lord, even at their worst, Pratt has never demonstrated an ability to play away from type. Wherever he appears, he is the same character in a different outfit; it is not so much that Pratt doesn't suit the role of Peter Quill, but that the role is just more of Chris Pratt being Chris Pratt.

And the more films we see in which he plays a version of himself, the further this breakout performance is diluted. But, with him billed for this year's Thor: Love And Thunder, there are no signs of him taking a break any time soon.

We can only hope, this time, it is Peter Quill who comes back with the metal beard and beer belly. Then, you never know, we might get to see a bit more character.
