2. Kananga's Death - Live And Let Die

Bond villains are not known for their subtle deaths. Goldfinger was sucked out of a plane. Blofeld got dropped into a chimney. Bond chucked Drax into outer space.

Basically, if you're a Bond baddie, you need to go out with a bang. However, the antagonist of Live and Let Die, Kananga, may have taken that trope a little too literally. While duking it out with Bond in shark-infested waters, the double-0 agent shoves a compressed gas pellet into Kananga's mouth, inflating like a balloon. As he shoots up into the air, Kananga smashes into the ceiling and implodes.

This is one of the most famous moments in the series but it's for all the wrong reasons. It's so blatantly obvious the actor, Yaphet Kotto, was swapped out for a balloon when he flies out of the water, it makes the climax unintentionally hilarious.

If you pause the shot and look at the balloon thoroughly, it's baffling how the crew thought it was realistic enough to use for the scene. It's pretty ironic that the goofiest death happens in one of Roger Moore's more serious Bond films.
