The Sandman AKA Flint Marko - played by Thomas Haden Church - appeared in Spider-Man 3 and was one of the few good things about it. He was a petty thief who had also been revealed as the accidental killer of Peter Parker's Uncle Ben in the first Spider-Man movie - but he became an incredibly super-powered villain when he fell into an experimental particle accelerator. He was molecularly bonded with the sand inside the accelerator and became partially composed of it. As a result, he could withstand any physical assault with ease (Spider-Man's fist harmlessly went through him) and he could shape-shift his body parts into solid rock-like clubs that he could use as weapons. He could also turn into sand completely and float around in mid-air. Most impressively, however, was his ability to merge with massive amounts of sand to make himself grow. At a building site, he was able to turn into a giant, enhancing his strength by an enormous amount. He was able to be hurt by fire, however, but he is still the most powerful character to have appeared in a Spider-Man movie to date. What do you think? Is the order correct here?
