10. Martin McDonagh
Films: In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths Martin McDonagh has actually already won an Academy Award for his short film Six Shooter; a darkly comedic yet violent film involving all sorts of quirky characters. The vibe of his short films would carry over into feature length films too. In Bruges was actually nominated for a screenplay Oscar (McDonagh wrote the film too) while Seven Psychopathic received its fair share of critical acclaim too. If you like gratuitously violent and hilarious movies with complex yet cartoonish plots involving multiple stories intertwining, then I highly suggest checking out Seven Psychopaths; it almost feels 100% inspired by a Tarantino crime film. Nevertheless, its not hard to see his movies only getting wilder and better.
