8. Wicket
Wicket Wystri Warrick, a loveable woodland Ewok creature first seen in the redwood forests of Endor in Return of The Jedi. With ROTJ being my favorite Star Wars film ( yep I typed that right!) I always hold a soft spot for theses ridiculous looking furry teddy bears. Wicket lead an adventurous life, quickly climbing the ranks of the Ewok hierachy from Scout, to Warrior and eventually to Chief. From a young age Wicket protected the Ewok village from outside invaders from far and wide, getting up to mischief along the way, even meeting a princess along the way, one Princess Leia, who proclaimed: "You're a jittery little thing, aren't you?"
Why ridiculous? With a penchant for quick, fidgety movements, Wicket is ridiculous ultimately because as a species Ewoks are ridiculous in themselves, essentially walking teddy bears. So ridiculous, the very thought of these characters actually pushed Gary Kurtz, George Lucas's producer and right hand man out of the original trilogy, to leave so disgusted he was with the thought of these characters. Even in the recently released Blu Ray version, though the Ewoks now blink, you can still see the actors eyes behind the dead eyed stare of their costumes. Ridiculous!
