On the surface, a minigun sounds like just about the coolest idea for a weapon ever. A large tube that shoots out thousands of rounds a minute, capable of chopping down trees within minutes of contact, and doing the same to your average human body in about a third of that time.

Movies like Predator make this gun look amazing, but if you actually stop and think about it, this is pretty much the worst possible idea for a weapon to bring against an enemy like the predator ever.

For one, unless you're constantly being fed ammo, you're gonna run empty pretty damn quickly due to just how fast this gun burns through rounds even when conserving your ammunition. Secondly, even if you are carrying a drum full of exactly enough ammo you need to get the job done, it's still one of the heaviest handheld guns in the world, usually reserved for being mounted on top of an armoured vehicle or aircraft.

Add onto that the kind of kick a gun like this gives off when firing, and the predator could probably just leisurely stroll right up to someone using this thing and not get hit once, because the dumb human using this thing is more than likely bouncing off the walls from the force of firing this giant paperweight.
