10 Most Satisfying Horror Movie Villain Deaths
3. Annie Wilkes - Misery
Out of everyone/every creature on this list, we think we can honestly say that there has never existed a more terrifying creature than Annie Wilkes. There's just always something inherently creepy about someone who not only actively avoids swearing but replaces those words with folksy little phrases. Seriously, guys, find us a creepier euphemism than 'dirty pillows'. If you go on a date with someone who uses phrases like that, yeah, you're getting shanked up good and proper by the end of the day.
Over the course of Misery, we see Annie psychologically torture protagonist Paul Sheldon, refuse him the pain medication that he desperately needs/has become addicted to, goddamn hobbles him (legit one of the scariest moments of all time) and it also comes to light that during her time as a nurse she just so happened to kill a whole bunch of kids.
All this makes it all the more satisfying to see Annie get her eventual comeuppance, and it's a gruesome comeuppance at that. In fact, in this case you could argue that what's far more satisfying than Annie's eventual death is the fact that Paul chokes her with the pages of his Misery manuscript in a delicious bit of irony wherein what she loved more than anything in the world ends up causing her agony and playing a part in her eventual death.
