Is there a more iconic relationship than Thor and his mighty hammer Mjolnir. The two are like Ash and Pikachu. Inseparable, depend on each other, and when they're together you can guarantee there's going to be a butt load of lightning.

In the first Thor film, Thor is a reckless and cocky young god whose philosophy in life is identical to that of MC Hammer's in the 90s. His inability to separate his emotions from his actions threatens the peace between his world and that of the ice giants. As punishment, Odin (pre-retirement home) banishes Thor and casts an enchantment on Mjolnir so that only someone worthy may wield it.

Thor finally finds his trusty hammer in the middle of an occupied SHIELD base and attempts to lift it showing off his impressive triceps whilst doing so. Alas, unlike King Arthur of old, the weapon dideth not budge and Thor's most trusted weapon didn't recognise him as a worthy wielder. Thor then has to learn about humility and sacrifice before he is once again worthy.

That is of course until he ditches Mjolnir for his new weapon Stormbreaker in Avengers: Infinity War which is like swapping your Pikachu for a Zapdos who has Voltorbs for eyeballs riding a Jolteon.
