10 Most Shocking Quentin Tarantino Movie Moments

1. Zed€™s Dead €“ Pulp Fiction

In a film filled with some of the most memorable scenes in cinema, Pulp Fiction boasted larger than life characters and not one, but three, intertwining stories, there was always going to be a few shocks with Tarantino at the helm. So when Butch (Bruce Willis) double crosses gangster Marsellus Wallace, he's forced to head home to retrieve a precious family heirloom - incidentally a watch that's been up Christopher Walken's ass, but that's another story. Naturally, there are undesirables waiting for him, but after a pop-tart related conflict Butch escapes believing that he's finally in the clear. Sadly he then runs into Marcellus at a set of traffic lights. As if nothing else could go wrong he crashes his car and is subsequently chased by a gun-wielding Marsellus, only to hide in a shop that is being staffed by a deprived man called Maynard. A swift hit with a rifle-butt and a call to a man named Zed later, and the two find themselves prisoners in what can only be described as a sex dungeon. From the moment they wake you get a sense that their captors aren't the nicest of people, and as Zed commands Maynard to "bring out the gimp", you know things are going down a dark road. Zed and Maynard then proceed to sodomise Marsellus in some of the most uncomfortable viewing of any Tarantino film, yet again juxtaposed with music not fitting for the occasion and using sound to give you a sense of just how grim the whole situation is. In a film that utilises humour to release tension, all you have here is shock and disbelief as you're forced to watch, knowing that, once viewed, the scene will stay with you forever.
