10 Most Skippable Harry Potter Movie Scenes

9. Borgin And Burkes - The Chamber Of Secrets

Coming in at 161 minutes, The Chamber of Secrets is the longest Harry Potter movie. Despite the length, there’s still a handful of deleted scenes, one of which involves the Malfoys visiting Borgin and Burkes, the creepy shop in Knockturn Alley.

It’s an interesting introduction to Lucius Malfoy, and we get to see the similarities between Draco and his father. Though not essential to the plot, it does give Harry’s unfortunate deviation an actual purpose.

But in the final cut of the movie, Lucius and Draco don’t show up until later on, so Harry’s time in Knockturn Alley is completely redundant. He wrestles with the Hand of Glory – for no reason at all – and then leaves the shop in a matter of seconds.

What’s more, Harry’s mispronunciation of Diagon Alley is too contrived. Why would he forget the name of one of the most famous places in the wizarding world? In the book, he coughs because of the ash in the fireplace and struggles to speak properly – which is much more believable.
