10 Most Stupid Decisions In Horror Movies

5. Reading Aloud - Evil Dead

TriStar Pictures

A remake of the original Evil Dead movie that sparked both Sam Raimi's career and an ongoing competition as to how brutally gory a movie can get, 2013's Evil Dead ups the ante with knife licking, finger snapping, and way too much tree assault. If there's anything that will make you cringe uncontrollably, it's an anthropomorphised tree that needs its invasive branches trimming. No thank you.

But what causes such horrible events to unfold? Why, it's perhaps one of the most classic and most ridiculous decisions in the history of horror, and that's to read aloud from the book covered in human skin, barbed wire, and that is literally plastered with 'Do Not Read' warnings.

Honestly, just pick up Fifty Shades of Grey or something instead if you want a scare- there's no need to go unleashing demons and doing that obnoxious loud reading that any self-respecting librarian would smack you upside the head for.

At least the original had it come out of an unsuspecting tape player. This is just bad form from Shaggy.
