10 Most Stupid Decisions In Horror Movies

2. Electrocuting An Immortal Entity - It Follows

Considering the director himself had some pretty strong feelings on the stupidity of this decision, it'd be pretty remiss not to include it.

It Follows is the creepy invisible stalker story of an entity that attaches itself to those that do the do with an 'infected' person, meaning you have to go on a big sex binge to try and get rid of the thing. Even then, if it gets hold of the person you pass it on to, it's still coming back for you - so better to try and kill it by using yourself as bait, right?

Wrong. Teenager Jay comes up with the master plan of attempting to trap this transparent menace in a swimming pool and electrocute it, only for it to start chucking all sorts back at the group and make everything ten times worse. And to top it all off, even when they think it's dead, there's no way of being certain since it's an unknowable, seemingly immortal enemy that stops at nothing to chase after its victims.

David Robert Mitchell said:

“It’s the stupidest plan ever! [Laughs.] It’s a kid-movie plan, it’s something that Scooby-Doo and the gang might think of, and that was sort of the point... they do their best to accomplish something, and we witness its failure."
