Though the Alien series has killed off children before, in the case of Alien 3 young Newt (Carrie Henn) was at least offed off-screen, cushioning the blow somewhat.

But Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem said "screw all that" and made the bold decision to literally kill a young boy in decidedly gory, upfront fashion totally out of nowhere.

Early in the film, the boy, Sam Benson (Liam James), and his father Buddy (Kurt Max Runte) are out hunting when they're attacked by a Facehugger. When they wake up, Buddy is promptly chest-bursted, yet as viewers we're hopeful that Sam may have somehow been spared the same fate.

But no more than a few seconds later, Sam similarly doubles over in pain and an infant Xenomorph bursts out of his chest, killing him instantly.

As terrible as the movie generally is, this was a ballsy, daring move which created an air of "anything goes" from the outset.
