Very few things can get your spine tingling and your hair standing up on end like domestic horror. Seeing someone's everyday life invaded by dangerous forces is deeply unsettling, and Cobweb delivers on that kind of fear masterfully.

This film tells the story of a young boy living with emotionally neglectful parents. After some time, he begins to hear a mysterious tapping from inside the house's walls, which his parents tell him is only his imagination. But, he soon discovers the source of these noises as a voice begins talking to him.

Cobweb relishes its gothic atmosphere that plays directly into the Halloween setting. It's an atmospheric nightmare that paces itself well by slowly picking up steam as it goes along. This build-up of horror leaves you terrified as you get the sense that things will not end well for this unlucky kid.

It also keeps things regarding the villain ambiguous in a way that leaves you unsatisfied. While that might irk many, it does play into the anxiety of the situation, as you truly feel kept in the dark.

This creepy film will burrow under your skin and refuse to budge, leaving you afraid to walk around your house at night.
