10 Most Twisted Asylum Horror Movies

8. Cult Of Chucky

The Ward Amber Heard
Universal Pictures

What makes Cult of Chucky particularly pleasing to long-term fans of the Child's Play franchise, is there's four Chucky dolls running rampage in Don Mancini's 2017 picture.

Three of those Good Guys are causing chaos in the mental asylum that now houses Fiona Dourif's Nica Pierce, while the other Chucky is a decapitated head that resides in the home of Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent).

The reason why we've got multiple Friends 'Til the End here is because Charles Lee Ray has managed to place his spirit in these three additional dolls. And three additional dolls, means three times the terror.

For Nica, having survived the events of Curse of Chucky, she's spent four years in a mental asylum after being framed - by Chucky, obvs - for the murders seen in that 2013 movie. When Good Guy dolls get introduced by Dr. Foley (Michael Therriault) to patients as part of a new relaxation technique, that just so happens to coincide with a slew of deaths happening across the facility.

By the time Cult wraps up, Chucky has possessed the body of Nica and is out in the wild with his beau Tiffany (and her own doll), while poor Andy Barclay has been left locked up in the nuthouse.
