10 Most Unconvincing CGI Characters In Movie History

3. T-800 - Terminator: Salvation

Terminator Salvation Terminator Salvation is a mostly Godawful movie, and it says a lot that the highlight (just about) is the cameo of the series' iconic star...in CGI form. You see, Arnold Schwarzenegger was still playing politician when Salvation was in production, but Arnie did agree to license his likeness for the movie, resulting in this shoehorned sequence, in which John Connor (Christian Bale) has to fend off the very same model of T-800 which protected him as a child (and also tried to murder his mother a decade before). Director McG clearly realised that Arnie is a major selling point of these movies, and though the nod wasn't exactly a terrible idea, the fact that the end result was laughably fake-looking essentially ruined it (and remember, this is the highlight of the movie still). We don't get a particularly long, lingering look at the face - likely because they knew the render was garbage - but it really doesn't look any better than a video game cut-scene, and typically, those things have considerably lesser budgets than the $200 million that Salvation was saddled with.
