10 Most Unconvincing CGI Characters In Movie History

4. Monkeys - Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull I like to pretend that Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a bad fever dream, and is really still just a s*** idea languishing in a vault somewhere in George Lucas' office. Instead, it's a dreadful motion picture that makes a mockery of the beloved franchise, and though the movie's worst moment - the infamous "nuked the fridge" scene - isn't particularly offensive as far as effects are concerned, the film has plenty of unconvincing effects anyway. There's the CGI gopher/prairie dog/thing at the start of the movie, but what's most egregious to me is the soul-destroying sequence in which Shia LaBeouf (already a red flag for the movie) swings from vines like Tarzan (strike two) with a gang of CGI monkeys that would've looked dated in a particularly poor PlayStation game. Not only does LaBeouf's character look totally out of place amid the digital set he's working on, but there's never a moment that we believe that either him or the monkeys are really interacting with anything at all.
