10 Most Underrated Harry Potter Characters
9. Percy Weasley
Along with many others on this list, Percy’s character arc was sadly lacking in the movies. Even in the novels though, he was only featured sparingly in the latter half of the series. Nevertheless, his journey was still a fascinating one.
Having always been bookish and respectful towards authority, Percy seemed an unlikely candidate for taking the wrong path. Unfortunately, his pursuit of power caused him to clash with his kind-hearted and minimalist parents. In addition to accusing his father of not having enough ambition, he also refused to believe Voldemort had returned, instead choosing to side with the Ministry of Magic against Harry and the Order of the Phoenix.
It wasn’t until the very end of The Deathly Hallows that Percy redeemed himself. In the moments before the Battle of Hogwarts, he reunited with his family and apologised for his behaviour.
Though there were certainly more detailed and satisfactory character arcs throughout the series, Percy’s is not talked about enough.
