10 Most Unexpected Transformations In Zombie Movies
9. Frank - 28 Days Later
As scary as regular undead creatures are, 28 Days Later's "fast zombies" added a whole new dimension of horror. If you encounter one of the Infected in this world, you're as good as dead unless you can run as fast as an Olympic sprinter.
Even though 28 Days Later has a lot of fast-paced scenes of zombies rushing towards their prey in a disorienting manner, the most horrifying moment is a slow, quiet scene revolving around Brendan Gleeson's character, Frank.
After losing his temper with his daughter, Frank storms off and tries to think of his group's next course of action. However, his thoughts keep being interrupted by a crow above him, pecking on an infected corpse. To put a stop to the bird's incessant squawking, Frank kicks the wall, hoping to scare it off.
Sadly, the kick causes a drop of the Infected's blood to fall into his eye, exposing him to the virus. Although he does everything in his power to fight the infection, the man once known as Frank is gone moments later, and replaced with a rage-induced monster.
Because there was a one-in-a-million chance the blood would fall into Frank's eye, nobody saw this coming, which made this tragedy more heartbreaking.
