3. The Final Battle - Avengers: Endgame

Some might have expected this spectacular brouhaha to earn the top spot, but there are other contenders I’d like to argue for there. But the impact of this scene is absolutely undeniable. A decade in the making, the Endgame final battle scene was always going to be a corker, but the build-up - bringing the Avengers to their lowest point so far and beating the absolute pap of our onscreen heroes - made Sam’s radio call of “on your left” that much more cathartic.

Not seeing fan favourites like T’Challa, King of Wakanda or Bucky Barnes for an entire film had taken its toll by this point, so being blessed with an extended scene of them kicking seven bells out of Thanos’ various armies made up for it at least a little.

Plus, the little nod to A-Force, Marvel’s first all-female hero team, as our favourite women banded together to help Captain Marvel get closer to Thanos was pretty nice to see. (it’s just a shame we didn’t see better use of Danvers in this movie, because she could have been a real help.) We always wanted to see a large-scale superhero war that could have been lifted straight from the comics on the big screen, and the battle to take down Thanos did not disappoint.
