Release Date: March 25, 2016 My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Remember that? Well, it's getting a sequel, all this time later. It sounds like the sort of fake sequel you'd get in a Saturday Night Live sketch or something, but, no, this is actually happening - 13 years after the last installment, My Big Fat Greek Wedding has decided to morph into a franchise with a fully-fledged follow-up. Nia Vardalos, who penned the first movie and also starred as the main character, must have gotten bored having done nothing else of note over the course of the past decade, because she's back fulfilling the same duties on this one. Apparently she was urged to do so by an incredibly smart producer who must have been browsing the IMDb one day and noticed that the first flick made $386 million on a $5 million budget. The plot will pick up after the titular wedding depicting in the first movie, with Fotoula "Toula" Portokalos having some kind of mid-life crisis. The stuff of cinema, huh? Who is gonna go see this? Either everybody in the whole entire world, or nobody at all. It will be interesting to see which way the axe falls.
